In 2013, Tenuta Casteani celebrated the birth of a new wine, named Turione. Turione is the asparagus’ sprout, a vegetable native of our land, where every year from May to July we witness its spectacular blossoming. This beauty of nature inspired us to produce this elegant wine that represents our terroir and its nuances at its best.Turione is obtained from a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot, the winemaking and the aging take place in steel tanks, that give the wine an immediate pleasantness.

It has a red ruby colour, on the nose it reveals scents of fresh fruits such as cherries and just ripe blackberries, balsamic sensations with hints of chocolate and black pepper. Well balanced and persistent, soft in the mouth with a sapid finish.

Perfectly paired with red and game meet and aged cheese.
